Although Southern College to date is no longer the only community funded institution of higher learning in Malaysia, its spirit of perseverance in overcoming all odds has never ceased to exist. In corollary Southern College has opened up access and new route for a great number of students. Today, merely a single thought of the devotion made by the forerunners, makes me deeply touched with a great sense of pride.

Certainly we understand that the brilliant past will never last forever, therefore, we have never stop since the establishment of Southern College in 1990. Constantly, striving for the better to meet the challenges of the times has always been in our minds. Apart from taking good care for the existing students, we also promote and encourage research and hence the setting up of the Research Institute of Chinese Ethnicity and Culture. In addition, we organize a variety of different training courses to meet the needs of the public, especially the working adults as a way of serving the society.

Being a non-profit-making institution, we maintain a very simple aim: other than improving the college curriculum, teaching and learning facilities to meet the demands of the new millennium; we also place emphasis on creating a better campus culture. We believe campus culture is the spirit of a college and it is our hope to cultivate generation of students who are knowledgeable as well as ethical. We would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to Southern College . If you stand on the top floor of the college, and have a bird's eye view of the pleasant and beautiful campus, we hope you will find looking at the green landscape of the campus a refreshing and delightful experience.
