Introduction
Johor is fast becoming a regional economic powerhouse in Peninsula Malaysia. The Federal and the Johor State government have pronounced a strategic master plan to transform Johor Bahru into a regional logistics and transportation hub for the South East Asian market.
In view of the growing market demands and the global trends in logistics and supply chain management, Southern College has design a brand new program - Diploma in Logistics Management.
Program Objectives
The Diploma in Logistics Management is designed with the following objectives in mind:
- to support government initiatives in transforming Southern Johor into a regional logistics and transportation hub
- to provide professional training in logistics operations and supply chain management
Features
This program consists of industrial attachment ( practical training ) as well as classroom lessons. The industrial training module should enable students to better appreciate the nature and demands of logistics management.
To ensure effective learning and understanding, students will be taught by qualified lecturers and practitioners. Students may have to use the latest educational technologies to enhance their learning.
Prospects
In view of the growth and development of the logistics and transportation industries, graduates of the program will have numerous career opportunities in dealing with logistics, supply chain, transportation, warehousing and inventory management.
Graduates who are keen to achieve higher level of understanding or qualification may opt for further studies in a number of Universities through credit transfer arrangement.
