Extra - Curricular Activities
 

1. Objectives:

  • To facilitate students to develop personal growth, which includes the improvement of self-understanding, ability of problem solving, socializing and the discovery of individual potential.
  • To assist students in job vacancies search according to their strengths and interests in order to achieve their own goals.

2. Target Group:

  • Students of Southern College

3. Service Hours:

  • Students are encouraged to make appointments with Ms Carine Lee, the Deputy Head of Student Counselling Office, or walk in any time after 12pm.

4. Venue:

  • Room 136, on the ground floor of the main building

5. Service Categories:

  • Life planning
    Individual or group counselling to facilitate students in achieving self-understanding, self-growth and self-achievement in both life and work
  • Job searching/hunting
    Assist students in job vacancies search according to their strengths and interests in order to achieve their own goals
  • Job searching information websites & notice boards
    Provide the information of job vacancies and recruitments in the community
  • Multimedia resources
    Equip students with all sorts of psychology and counselling materials which are in the college library
  • Seminars & workshops
    Invite guest speakers or specialists to give talks and share their experiences with students
  • Circle K Club
    Consists of a group of students and an advisor for the following purposes:
    1. To encourage participation in Counselling and Altruistic Services.
    2. To provide the information on voluntary basis social service organization for our mature students.
    3. To enhance the members’ knowledge and skills in social graces and personality development.
    4. To expose the members to leadership training.


* Freshmen Orientation

Freshmen are to attend “Freshmen Orientation Activities” once enrolled in which the President and departmental heads will brief on the organisation and operation of the college.
